My portfolio website is now live (www.artificialgraphics.com). It took a while to gather some of my pieces that I’ve worked on throughout the years. I plan on doing a popup overlay for each piece that will have additional information. I also need to go through the code and clean things up and make it “legal”.

Progress continues on my website. The jQuery plugins I’m using had to be somewhat rigged in ways I wasn’t familiar with. Lots of trips were taken to the jQuery website and Google. That said, I think I’ve learned quite a bit about jQuery. I’m not putting “About | Contact | Resume” on the page. I think I’m just going to put a blurb under the portfolio slider - saying a little about me. If somebody wants to contact me or get my resume, they can use all my social network contacts.

Here is my homepage mockup. It’s simple. Has slots for 3 portfolios that I want to display and it has a sidebar for my social networking junk. I want to use the Nivo JQuery slider lib for the portfolio piece. I haven’t implemented it yet, but I hope it will do the job. I’m currently working on the side bar - specifically the twitter and tumblr feeds. I was using the Juitter JQuery lib for the twitter feed, but it craps out on refresh and I have no idea why. I think I’ll just learn how to call JSON and work it out myself. I used a quick tumblr/JQuery/JSON tutorial (here), and it seems to do the trick. More later.

I’ve started a new tumblr for my Artificial Graphics website. I’ve torn down my old WordPress CMI. It served no purpose - especially since Tumblr and Twitter now serve as my blogging output. I deleted everything on my server (after a solid backup). Now I’m starting fresh. The website will essentially be my portfolio and resume - with links to all my other social networking. I’ll be using strictly HTML5 and JQuery. Some squatting mook has my domain name on tumblr so I will have to use ArtificialGrphx. Once I get this done, I’ll update my Artificial Tunes site as a sister site for my music exploits.
P.S. I know “under construction” pages are sooo 90’s. I’m old school. That’s how I roll.
